With her participation in Mumbai-based ad films that flash all over Hindi TV channels, many want to know if Trisha will go to Bollywood soon! Or should we say, many are afraid they will lose Trisha to Bollywood!!! Escalating their fears is news every day that Trisha heard some new Bollywood script!
A smiling Trisha says that though she has been approached by many Bollywood producers, directors and scriptwriters, she has rejected them all so far. She did not find anything interesting or worth doing. Moreover, Trisha is yet to be bit by the Bollywood bug! She says, “I don’t see why I should do a Bollywood film.” But she is also quick to add, “But if I get a really big film with a good script opposite some top-notch hero of Bollywood, I would like to try that but somehow I am not able to connect to Bollywood as I connect to Southern film industry. That is why even though I frequently participate in modelling and ads in Mumbai, I don’t pay much attention to Bollywood.”
She is also very happy with the way her career is progressing. She is now acting in King opposite Nagarjuna and was very happy when Nageshwara Rao (Nagarjuna’s father) praised her during the film’s audio launch recently. “That is equivalent to an Oscar for me. He is a legendary actor,” says this beautiful actress. After this, she would act opposite Vishal in a Tamil film to be directed by Selvaraghavan.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy gave away the prestigious Nandi Awards for the year 2005 and 2006. The Nandi awards for 2005 and 2006 went to Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu (best actors), Trisha and Nandita Das (best actresses), ‘Pothe Poni’ and ‘Bommarillu’ (best films) and Krishna Vamsi and Sekhar Kammula (best directors), respectively.
The Chief Minister also presented the NTR national awards to super star Krishna (2003), music director L. Ilayaraja (2004), Kannada actor Ambarish (2005) and Hindi film heroine of yesteryears, Waheeda Rehman (2006). The Raghupati Venkaiah awards were given to filmmakers M.S. Reddy (2005) and D. Rama Naidu (2006). They carried cash awards of Rs. 5 lakh each.
Vishal’s film which is to be directed by Selvaraghavan, will go to floors during March. Featuring Trisha alongside Vishal, the movie is touted to be an action-thriller. Sources say it would be more like a James Bond film and would be shot in over seven countries.
Selvaraghavan, who is known for films with human emotions, will broach on action this time around. Incidentally, this is the first time Vishal and Trisha would pair up.
Currently, Selvaraghavan is busy completing the final portions of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ starring Karthi, Reema Sen and Andrea. The film is expected to be released for Pongal.
Vishal will also act in a movie titled ‘Thoranai’ alongside Shreya and the film is to be directed by debutant Ayappan, later next year.
Marmayogi has already become the apple of the news-hungry-media’s eye and with rumors and hearsays being speculated every single day, there is no dearth of news about the movie in the media. The latest grapevine whispered that Trisha and Shreya were asked to concentrate on their ongoing projects since the movie’s take off is being delayed momentarily. There was also news about Ayngaran contributing to the project by pumping in funds. But both the parties refused to confirm this report.
Latest in the news series is that Trisha is undergoing vigorous martial arts training for the movie. The actress has been enrolled in a customized 12-day course and is undergoing sword fighting and such similar martial arts.
Earlier Trisha and Shreya also underwent linguistic classes for honing their Tamil pronunciation.
It’s all work and no fun for Trisha this Deepavali. The actress would be shooting for her film King alongside Nagarjuna in Bangalore on the festive day.
The young actress, who is eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Abhiyum Naanum’, directed by Radha Mohan, says, ‘ I will be in the sets of King on Deepavali day. It’s all work for me on Deepavali day.’
Trisha who has completed ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ and working in the films Sarvam, directed by Vishnuvardhan and Goutham Menon’s ‘Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikalam’, says, ‘I am doing movies of different genres now. Every film is different from the other. My characterization is quite plausible in all the movies.’
On ‘Abhiyum Naanum’, she said, “It is a different film altogether. It speaks about the emotional bondage shared between a father and his daughter. I have done several films with Prakashraj and we share a good rapport on screen. Radha Mohan has rendered an engrossing tale, which is far away from commercial cinema.”
‘Sarvam’ is a movie to reckon with. A team of talented technicians led by Vishnuvardhan are working round-the-clock for the movie. ‘Chennaiyil Oru Maazhaikalam’ is fast nearing completion. A few more portions have to be shot. Working with Goutham is a great learning experience’.
However the actress is tight-lipped when queried about ‘Marma Yogi’. ‘It is all but Kamal Haasan in the film. It is not appropriate for me to talk about it now’.
Trisha says she is not responsible for the delay of Abhiyum Naanum. She says, “There is no truth in this. I am not in a position to answer such questions when somebody writes false news. It is the imagination of the person who wrote it. This film is a combination of great artistes. So the call sheet of everybody should synchronize.
There is a never a time that I have not completed the film which I have committed. I will not do this even in future. Abhiyum Naanum is my film and I have really enjoyed acting in the role of Abhi. I have done this role with dedication. This film is about the emotions and sentiments between a daughter and father.”
The latest news is that Duet Movies Radha Mohan directed Abhiyum Naanum has decided to push its release date from Diwali to sometime in November.
A spokesperson of the film says that it is due to lack of theatres that Prakash Raj has decided to postpone the release date. He could only get dates in Sathyam and Inox in Chennai for Diwali. For a wider release, Prakash was forced to postpone the release to November.
A few days back, Prakash held a special screening for his industry friends and everyone who watched it loved it and fell for its subtle humour and sentiments. Trisha is said to have come out with an extraordinary performance, the best in her life!
It makes sense for Prakash Raj to postpone Abhiyum Naanum, as a good film with no big male stars would take a better opening if it gets a solo release. Diwali where mass films rule, is not the ideal time for a Radha Mohan film to release.
Radha Mohan, the director who shot to fame with the emotional drama Mozhi, is ready to strike again with Abhiyum Naanum. The director has earned accolades for his feel good stories. So, how has the director set his foot firm in the industry without any glamour in his films? “After Mozhi’s success, expectations have gone up. It is my responsibility to produce good films.
I have to give a better product every time.” Radha Mohan gives extra attention to music in his films and it is no news that Vidyasagar and Radha Mohan are a hit combination.
How did the magic happen? “I am a music buff. And that’s exactly the reason why I give a lot of importance to music in my films. Moreover, Vidyasagar and I are great friends,” says the director. Abhiyum Naanum is a family drama starring Prakash Raj, Trisha and Aishwarya in the lead. The movie is slated for a Diwali release.
Trisha and Arya are in the lead roles. Some one spread a rumour that there was a clash between Trisha and Vishnuvardhan. But shooting of the film is going on without any interruption.
There is a scene in the film where Trisha is dying and Trisha did not like it. That was the essence of the rumour. Aside from that Trisha had acted in a two-piece swimming dress in a song sequence that was shot in Goa.
Having dressed up homely Nayantara in a two-piece dress, Vishnuvardhan had done the same thing with Trisha. But don’t expect to see Trisha in a dress like Nayantara. Reason: Trisha is only wearing a semi swimming dress.
Vijay starrer ‘Kuruvi’ has managed a 150-day run across theatres in Tamilnadu. Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin and directed by Dharani, the movie featuring Vijay, Trisha and Suman in the lead roles, witnessed mixed reviews at the box office.
However, thanks to the racy script and Vijay’s popularity among the masses, the movie opened big and gradually settled down to do a decent business at the box office.
The cast and crew thanked the film-buffs for helping the movie complete a 150-day run. According to director Dharani, “I thank the producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, actor Vijay and the rest of my crew for the successes”.
Post ‘Gilli’, Vijay-Dharani-Trisha and music composer Vidyasagar tag teamed for ‘Kuruvi’. Fortunately, they succeeded in their attempt.
